A Hot & Studly Pride Weekend:
Annie Sprinkle, Liquid Fire & Studly

(SAN FRANCISCO)—We celebrate the 2001 Pride weekend with a program of hot new performances by women artists about sexual identity and expression.

The legendary adult-film-star-turned-performance-artist Annie Sprinkle brings Herstory of Porn to Theater Rhinoceros, 2940 16th St, on June 20-22. This solo performance and film diary traces the performerıs 25 year evolution through the Sexual Revolution and takes the audience to seven very different movie theaters ranging from the Pink Pussy Cat Sinema to the New Age Sex Multiplex as the star interacts with clips from some of the two hundred movies she's made. Admission is $25.

Annual favorite Liquid Fire returns to SomArts, 934 Brannan St, with ten shows from June 21-30 to celebrate its fifth anniversary with Nasty, a performance dedicated to the celebration of the erotic power of lesbians of color. Artists from the last four years unleash burning hot spoken word, music, song, and dance that will make your knees weak, your toes curl, and your mouth water. Itıs the best of Liquid Fire with some unforgettable new surprises. Admission is $13-$22.

Lisi DeHaası one-woman show, Studly, shines at Venue 9, 252 9th St, from June 20-30. This comedy-drama chronicles the coming of age of a young woman who gradually realizes that her father is gay—and so is she! Monologues, music, and dance bring a variety of characters to life from the bright lights of Broadway to the queer Mecca of San Francisco. Studliness is only one response to the vulnerability of coming out in this cabaret of sexual difference and desire. Admission is $12-$15 sliding scale.
