Artist's Statement

My primary love is sound art. I am amazed at the ability to filter down a singular sound within a crowd, a forest, on a highway, etc. that completely captivates me and tells me a story unique to itself; yet, no matter how unique the story behind the sound, that story still allows room for my own interpretations. I make field recordings of found sounds and work to make a sound piece that captivates the listener by presenting them with something familiar but also a bit different.

Although I focus heavily on sound, sometimes an image, or a sequence of images, captures my interest just as fully as sound does. In instances such as this, I will work in such a way to present the image in an ambiguous way, in hope that the viewer will bend the story to their own experiences.
