In this solo show, Kirk Read goes on tour with the Republican primaries, among other places. He is hired as a sex worker by candidates and campaign workers. His stories explore computer addiction, the onset of masculinity, barebacking, crystal meth, satanism, ritual, and the distinct possibility of tenderness.
Kirk Read is the author of "How I Learned to Snap" and created the show "This is the Thing" with musician Jeffrey Alphonsus Mooney. He has toured with Sister Spit, the Sex Workers Art Show and the Queen's English. He is the founder of Army of Lovers, which produces literary and performance events, including the male sex worker art event "Formerly Known As."
"If you haven't seen writer/performance artist Kirk Read...then you haven't really experienced San Francisco. San Francisco's freak prince is definitely Kirk Read."
